Fellowship-Trained Spine Surgeon
Dr. Ioannis Avramis, MD is an Orthopedic Surgeon and fellowship-trained Spine Surgeon who is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders. He received his medical degree from the University of California Davis, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Southern California and Los Angeles County medical center. Following this, he returned and completed his fellowship in spine surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. This comprehensive fellowship trained him in the evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of adult and pediatric spinal disorders, ranging from minimally invasive treatments of common disorders to complex deformity and tumor reconstruction of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
Dr. Avramis has a special interest in cervical disorders, such as, cervical stenosis, cervical myelopathy, and cervical disc degeneration and herniation and the corresponding treatments including motion preserving techniques, such as, laminoplasty. He also has experience in anterior spinal procedures including anterior spinal fusions and thoracic disc herniation decompressions. Dr. Avramis has extensive training in the treatment of lumbar disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, arthritis and deformity of the spine. As a surgeon at MISpineRelief, Dr. Avramis looks to treat spinal pathology with the most minimally intrusive procedure possible without compromising the efficacy of the procedure.
